Booking on Amboi.my is designed to take 30 seconds for the simple cases and 5 minutes when you want to compare options. Here's the full flow.
1. Find the vendor
Three ways:
- Search bar at the top of any page. Type what you want (e.g. "buffet catering 200 pax").
- Browse by category — pick Catering / Venue / Photography / etc. from the homepage.
- Plan-search — tell us your event date + state + guest count and we'll match the right vendors automatically.
2. Open a vendor profile
Look for the Verified badge — it means we've checked their identity documents (SSM / IC) so you're not dealing with a ghost listing. The rating + review count tells you whether real customers have actually booked them.
3. Pick a package or listing
Most vendors have multiple packages. Pick the one that matches your event size + budget. Add-ons (e.g. extra hours, additional pax) can be selected on the next screen.
4. Submit a booking inquiry
You'll be asked for:
- Event date + time
- Venue (or "to be confirmed")
- Guest count
- Any special requests (dietary, language, theme)
The vendor responds within 24 hours (we hold them to a 4-hour SLA for verified vendors).
5. Pay the deposit into escrow
Once the vendor accepts, you pay a deposit (typically 30%) into Amboi's escrow. We hold the money — the vendor doesn't see it until the event is delivered. This protects you if anything goes wrong.
6. Pay the balance + enjoy your event
The balance is due closer to the event date. After the event, the vendor's full payment is released from escrow once you confirm everything was delivered.
That's it — refund + dispute mechanisms kick in if anything goes off-script.
