Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all content uploaded to Amboi.my — service photos, videos, descriptions, profile information, reviews, and messages. It applies equally to vendors, customers, and any other user.
By uploading or submitting content you confirm that you have the legal right to do so and that the content complies with this AUP, our Terms & Conditions, and Malaysian law.
1. Prohibited content
You must not upload, share, or link to content that contains or promotes:
- Violence and gore — graphic injury, blood, abuse, animal cruelty, or weapons used to threaten.
- Nudity and sexual content — nudity, sexually-explicit imagery, or content sexualising minors. Any content depicting or implying minors in a sexual context will be reported to the authorities and the account permanently terminated.
- Hate speech and harassment — content attacking individuals or groups based on race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious illness.
- Illegal activity — drugs, weapons sales, fraud, money laundering, gambling outside licensed contexts, human trafficking, or services that facilitate illegal acts.
- Misleading content — fake reviews, doctored photographs, false price claims, or impersonation of another person, business, or the Amboi.my platform.
- Infringement — copyrighted images, music, video, fonts, or trademarks you do not have a licence to use.
- Personal data — phone numbers, addresses, IC numbers, or other PII of third parties without consent.
- Malware and security — links or files containing malware, phishing, or attempts to compromise the platform.
- Spam and manipulation — duplicate listings, keyword stuffing, fake bookings, review manipulation, or coordinated inauthentic activity.
2. Listing media rules
- Maximum 7 images per listing — JPG, PNG, or WebP, ≤ 8 MB each. Images are auto-resized to 1600 × 1600 pixels for display.
- Maximum 1 video per listing — MP4 only, 10–60 seconds, resolution ≤ 1280 × 1280 pixels, ≤ 50 MB.
- Photos must accurately represent the service or product offered. Stock photos are only permitted with a licence and clear labelling.
- People shown in photos or videos must have given explicit consent. Real customer photos are encouraged but require their permission.
- No watermarks, logos, or contact information overlaid on images that route the customer off-platform.
- No QR codes, phone numbers, email addresses, or social-media handles in images, videos, captions, or descriptions intended to bypass the platform.
3. Enforcement
We act on detected violations, community reports, and spot checks. The platform reserves the right to remove content at any time without prior notice.
Three-stage progression
- Stage 1 — Warning. The offending content is removed. The vendor receives an email explaining the violation. The strike is recorded in the account history.
- Stage 2 — Suspension. The vendor's listings are hidden from search and unbookable for a period determined by severity (typically 7–30 days). Accepted bookings continue to honour their existing schedule. Vendors may not list new services during suspension.
- Stage 3 — Permanent ban. The vendor account is terminated. Listings are removed. Any unsettled escrow is held pending outstanding bookings. The associated user account is deactivated. Banned users may not register new vendor accounts.
Strike progression is at the platform's discretion. Severe violations — such as content depicting minors, coordinated fraud, or repeated platform abuse — may result in immediate ban without prior warning. Strikes can be revoked on appeal if a moderation decision is found to be incorrect.
4. Reporting violations
Anyone can report content they believe violates this policy via the Report button on any listing or vendor profile. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team within 48 hours. Reporter identity is kept confidential from the reported party.
Bad-faith reports — submitted to harm a competitor or harass a user — are themselves a violation of this AUP and may result in strikes against the reporter.
5. Appeals
A vendor who believes a strike was issued in error may appeal in writing to moderation@amboi.my within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by a moderator who was not involved in the original decision. If the appeal succeeds, the strike is revoked and the listing restored.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and announcement on the platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
